Why is it that creativity is so vitally important in my everyday life? Well, it is this simple, by ensuring that I am constantly contributing in a creative way makes my life infinitely more interesting. Furthermore, the fulfilment factor is extremely satisfying. Creativity is a way of living life that embraces individuality and makes exceptional connections between contrasting concepts and ideas. Creativity is about living life to its fullest and communicating the uniqueness of your ideas into a state of manifestation.
Creativity is Life!
We often think about creativity as making something, but in fact, the core definition of the word means ‘to grow’. When we are expressing our natural desire to be creative, it becomes as though the world and all that is in it is electric and amazing – and the truth is – that is how it actually is.
I have been fortunate enough in my career to always work in the creative arts. On a daily basis, I am facilitating the re-discovery of the creative desire in others through publishing their work. Consequently, I am assisting in sharing that creative desire for my authors through the marketing and promotion of their work. Finally, for some, taking them to the stage to share their creativity and message to an audience.
Presenting Creative Expression
For over 15 years I have travelled throughout Australasia presenting seminars on the publishing process. Sharing the latest developments and changes within the book publishing industry. Most importantly, sharing new and innovative ways to understand the creative process and realise it through writing and publishing a book. The satisfaction in presenting these seminars is fantastic and the new relationships formed are precious. The creative works of others, I am privileged to be a part of. Additionally, the release of the creative passion within these people is nothing short of magnificent. This is why I do what I do!
Time For A Change!
The problem I see most in the business world today is people are not doing what they love. They either get into doing something because someone else has made money out of it. Therefore, they feel they can replicate it. I find this uncreative with no individuality so while they might succeed, the fulfilment is fleeting and insincere. Or they have taken up a career or job because of social expectation. The mentality to get a job, buy a house, marry, have kids and well – die. This is conditioning we have had educated into us as ‘normal’. Errgh – I do not like that word. Creative thinking and leadership offer much more daily fulfilment and satisfaction. It creates the habit of waking up smiling and going home singing. Something I am fortunate enough to experience every single day.
There is much more to this process and why I do what I do than a 500-word blog can offer. I have other creative things to attend to today to bring me further fulfilment in this awesome journey that is life. However, stay tuned for more blogs about this inspirational way of life structure. Also, keep an eye out for the seminars and workshops that I am extremely grateful to be presenting. You can review our Facebook page to see what’s coming up.
